Our Story
Prairie Sky Drones was founded by Jax Schuster, a Sioux Falls-based pilot who kept getting the same question from real estate contacts: "Can you get a drone shot of this?" After the hundredth time, Jax got FAA certified, invested in professional equipment, and went all-in on aerial photography for the Sioux Falls market.
This isn't a hobby operation that got a Part 107 cert last month. Jax has logged hundreds of commercial flights across Minnehaha and Lincoln counties — residential listings, new construction, rural acreage, and commercial properties.

A lot of drone companies in South Dakota say they do everything — weddings, inspections, agriculture, you name it. We specialize in real estate because it's where we deliver the most value. Real estate agents aren't our side clients. They're our entire business.
That means we understand MLS requirements, listing deadlines, and exactly what images make buyers click. We're built around your workflow, not ours.
Equipment
We fly the DJI Mavic 3 Pro and DJI Air 3 — professional-grade drones capable of 4K/60fps video and 48MP stills. Every shoot is backed up on-site. We don't leave without confirming clean footage.

Based in Sioux Falls, we cover a 40-mile radius with no travel fees — all of Minnehaha and Lincoln counties plus surrounding communities.
